JAY-Z might have “99 Problems,” but spending $100K on a friend ain’t one. On Monday (Feb. 19), Young Hov splurged while celebrating the 50th birthday of Roc Nation Sports president Juan “OG” Perez.
Page Six reports that Jigga spent more than $110,000 throughout Sunday night in New York. First, Hov, Juan, Roc Nation execs, and friends dined at upscale Japanese restaurant Zuma, where they spent a reported $13,000 on lobster, steak, and sushi. The group then made its way to Inwood hotspot Made in Mexico, splurging on $9,000 in drinks including JAY-Z’s own D’Ussé.

Finally, Shawn Carter and friends arrived at Playroom Nightclub, where they ordered a whopping 40 bottles of Ace of Spades, totaling up to $91,135 in champagne, including an $11,100 tip for the server, as seen in a social media-shared receipt. In total, Jigga reportedly spent $113,000 on Juan’s birthday.

S Dot has mentioned OG Juan throughout his discography, on songs like “Blue’s Freestyle/We Family,” “Brooklyn High,” “Do U Wanna Ride,” and “La Familia.” Jigga famously named Perez on “Empire State of Mind,” as well, rapping: “Catch me at the X with O.G. at a Yankee game / Shit, I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can.”
While Mr. Carter was having fun in New York, Beyoncé and Blue Ivy were having a ball at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles.
