6ix9ine Says Robbery Was ‘Inside Job’

Posted by Unknown on 2:15 PM

6ix9ine may be famous for trolling, but he insists his kidnapping was not a publicity stunt.

The rapper appeared on “TMZ Live” on Monday (July 23), where he explained what happened during Sunday’s brutal attack in Brooklyn, where he was allegedly kidnapped, pistol whipped, and robbed of $750,000 in jewelry and $15,000-$20,000 in cash.

Tekashi says he was coming home after editing his “FEFE” video with Nicki Minaj when his vehicle was hit from behind. A gunman emerged from the car and pistol whipped him so hard that he blacked out and woke up in the back of a different car.

“I black out right there. All I saw was a flash,” he explained. “It just happened so quick. All I saw was the gun in my face. When I woke up, I was in the back seat of a car.”

He pleaded with the armed men to let him see his two-year-old daughter, who was reportedly in the house with his baby mother at the time of the robbery. He didn’t tell them where he lived, but claims someone knew. “It was like an inside job,” he said. “I wouldn’t want to set up a publicity stunt and lose close to a million dollars.”

Some believe it was a PR stunt set up to promote his new single “FEFE” with Nicki Minaj, which also happened to drop on Sunday (July 22).

6ix9ine denies the claim, but admits to trolling in the past. “I’m like the boy who cried wolf,” he said. “The person who trolls so much. When it’s actually real, people don’t believe it anymore because it’s like, ‘He’s trolling.'”

Cops have uncovered surveillance video, which helps support his story. The footage reportedly shows the suspects’ vehicle outside the rapper’s home, but it’s too far away to ID the gunmen.
