Last year, Chance the Rapper previewed a Future collaboration called “My Peak.” Today, the full version of their joint together arrives, featuring an additional verse from King Louie.
Over a thumping instrumental, Chano raps about his baby’s mother. “My baby mama finna get her masters,” he brags. “I just hit the office, that’s the FAFSA / I don’t wanna hear about no masters / I just hit my pastor, it’s faster.”
Hndrxx handles the chorus, in which he boasts about drinking lean and smoking in his whip. “Head full of smoke, body full of ink / I don’t measure it no more, I pour it ’til it’s pink,” he sings. “As I’m lifting up the doors, droppin’ ashes on the seats / Whoa, I ain’t barely reach my peak.”
Louie also rounds out the track with some lines about his own cash flow and woman-pleasing ways. “Live Nation checks with my name give me goosebumps,” he raps. “I’ll book a flight for your girl and make your boo cum / Slide on the prey in a day and make the news come / I had a few fights for my life and I ain’t lose one.”
King Louie also adds: “Call up L.A. Reid and tell his ass it’s time to run it up.” Reid has since left Epic Records amid a sexual harassment scandal and launched his own imprint HitCo.
Future has been busy. After appearing all over DJ Esco’s Kolorblind, he teamed up with PARTYNEXTDOOR for “No Shame” off the SuperFly soundtrack. Chano and Future also previously collaborated on “Smoke Break” from 2016’s Coloring Book.
