Meek Mill Name Drops Drake on ‘What’s Beef’ Remix

Posted by Unknown on 11:24 AM

Meek Mill and Drake are moving past their beef.

The Philly rapper, who was released from prison last month, took to Instagram to share a snippet of his remix to Biggie’s “What’s Beef,” which includes a shout-out to his former rival. “Is we beefin’ or rappin’? / I might just pop up with Drizzy,” raps Meek while holding his Dreamchasers chain.

Although they have a history of beef, the two are seemingly ready to make amends. When asked about a potential collaboration earlier this month, Meek left the door open.

“It’s possible. Everything is possible,” he told Hot 97’s Ebro. “I ain’t got no hate towards him and I don’t believe he got hate towards me. When I was in the situation, I seen in the media…he said ‘Free Meek Mill.’ That was when I’m at my down point, where I don’t really got anything going with music. A lot of people can say, ‘He wants to attach with what’s going on.’ I don’t really care about that. Before we had a little rap issue, I knew him as a person, and he supported.”

Drake showed his support for Meek while he was incarcerated. During a stop on his “Boy Meets World Tour” in Melbourne, Australia last year, Drizzy acknowledged a fan who was wearing a “Free Meek Mill” shirt. “I see you got the ‘Free Meek Mill’ T-shirt,” he said. “Free Meek Mill, too, man. For real. You right.”

It’s unclear when Meek’s “What’s Beef (Remix)” will drop, but Drake is gearing up to release his new album Scorpion next month. He posted a photo of DJ Premier along with the scorpion emoji on Instagram Stories last night, hinting that the album may feature production from the legendary beatsmith.

Despite their past, Drake and Meek are no stranger to collaborations. They previously worked together on songs like “Amen” and “R.I.C.O.”
