Diddy to Honor His Mother on VH1’s ‘Dear Mama’

Posted by Unknown on 7:24 PM

In honor of Mother’s Day, Sean “Diddy” Combs will celebrate his mother Janice Combs during VH1’s annual “Dear Mama: A Love Letter to Moms” special.

The Bad Boy boss will honor his mother’s hardworking ways. Janice Combs worked several jobs while raising the hip-hop mogul, providing an example for his own entrepreneurial future. Today, he is one of the wealthiest men in music.

“I did so many jobs at one time,” Mama Combs said during an episode of “Inside the Actors Studio.” “I worked at the United Cerebral Palsy, United Ed in Westchester County, I [drove] a school bus. I worked in a baby’s boutique shop and he never knew this, I worked at an after-hours spot, too. I have to come clean. I made more money because the men thought I was very glamorous. I used to pour liquor and they’d give me big tips. That’s how I was able to educate my children.”

Puff isn’t the only celebrity who will honor his mother. Former NFL star-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick and actress Gabrielle Union will also participate in the Mother’s Day celebration.

Hosted by La La Anthony and Anthony Anderson, “Dear Mama: A Love Letter to Moms” is set to air Monday, May 7, at 9 p.m.

The show has honored several mothers in the past. Alicia Keys, Will Smith, Halle Berry, Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige, Ludacris, DJ Khaled, Kelly Rowland, and Maxwell have all appeared on the special in recent years.
