One month after dropping Before Anythang: The Cash Money Story, Birdman unleashes the documentary’s star-studded soundtrack.
It’s an impressive roster complete with A-list talent. Migos, Young Thug, Gucci Mane, and Snoop Dogg join acts like Jacquees, DeJ Loaf, NBA Young Boy, and the reunited Big Tymers over 18 tracks, while Zaytoven, London On Da Track, and The Olympicks provide production.
Before Anythang is the first of three documentaries about Cash Money’s legacy that will be released via Apple Music.
The soundtrack comes at a tumultuous time. Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Drake are all still part of the label, but are not on the soundtrack. All three are part of an ongoing $51 million legal battle between Tunechi and Cash Money.
Despite reports of a private reconciliation, sources say that the litigation has become “bitter” and “hostile.” Wayne is now demanding legal documents regarding Young Money stars Drizzy and Nicki in the case.
