Kanye West, Ariana Grande, & Common Support March for Our Lives Rally

Posted by Unknown on 3:27 PM

Kanye West, Vic Mensa, and Common were among those showing support for March for Our Lives. The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting inspired teenagers and others to organize an anti-gun/pro-gun control protest in Washington, D.C., which also drew many stars.

Kanye West was on hand with wife Kim Kardashian and daughter North West. “I’m so happy [that] I got to share this moment with these two,” tweeted Kim. “I hope North remembers this forever.”

Kardashian also explained her support on Twitter. “We stand in solidarity with the survivors of gun violence & students who are calling for action on common sense gun safety laws at #MarchForOurLives around the country,” she added.

Yeezy’s Chicago friends Common and Vic Mensa also performed at the event. Mensa dedicated “We Could Be Free” to “Stephon Clark, Decynthia Clements, and all the unarmed black men and women killed by police weapons.” He added: “Until all of us are free, none of us will be free.”

Common joined Andra Day for “Stand Up for Something,” a song off the Marshall soundtrack. “I stand for peace, love, and women’s rights,” Common rapped in front of the sign-carrying protestors.

Ariana Grande also took the stage to perform her empowering anthem “Be Alright.” “This is for these brilliant students here today that are leading this march and everybody participating,” she said before taking selfies with the students. “Thank you so much for fighting for change and for love and safety, and for our future.”

Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Jennifer Hudson were among other celebrities at the March for Our Lives event in Washington, D.C. People all over the nation sparked similar protests in support of the movement.
