Posted by Unknown on 10:42 PM

XXXTentacion dedicates his newest song, “Hope,” to the students who died in the recent Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, which resulted in 17 deaths.

“Rest in peace to all the kids that lost their lives in the Parkland shooting,” says XXX. “This song is dedicated to you.”

“I think I’ll find a way of envisioning a better life for the rest of us,” he sings on the track. “There’s hope for the rest of us.”

Tentacion also wrote a message to survivors via SoundCloud. “follow your dreams, and know that even though you have lost, you have guardian angels watching over you , day in and day out,” he wrote. “the last thing they want is for their lives to be lost in vein, make them proud! live full, healthy, genius lives!”

The song’s artwork also offers a message to the students who witnessed the Parkland shooting. “I could never say I understand how you are all feeling, nor can I find the right words to say to you, but I do want you all to know, you are not alone,” he wrote. “The words at the end of the song are dedicated to you Douglas High.”

On Instagram, he acknowledged that the entire song isn’t exactly about the shooting, but he said that the sentiment is still conveyed: “although not all the words are relevant to the situation,” he wrote. “I chose what I felt was relative and uplifting instead of graphic and real.”
