‘Black Panther’ Soundtrack Tops Billboard 200 for Second Week

King Kendrick extends his reign on the Billboard 200 with Black Panther: The Album.

The Kendrick Lamar and TDE-produced project, which features music from and inspired by the $700 million Marvel blockbuster, earns its second week atop the coveted chart with 131,000 equivalent album units (40,000 traditional) in its second week out.

Black Panther: The Album is the second soundtrack to log two back-to-back weeks at No. 1 this year following The Greatest Showman. It also nabs the biggest second-week total for a soundtrack since 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey.

Nipsey Hussle enters the chart at No. 4 with his debut album Victory Lap, which earns the highest debut of the week with 53,000 units (30,000 traditional).

Elsewhere on the chart, Migos’ Culture II jumps 4-2 with 64,000 units, Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods dips 2-6 (38,000), Ed Sheeran’s ÷ drops 6-7 (37,000), Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. jumps 9-8 (33,000), and Post Malone’s Stoney descends 8-9 (32,000).
