Migos: ‘We the Biggest Group Ever’

Posted by Unknown on 2:23 PM

The Beatles? Wu-Tang Clan? The Rolling Stones? N.W.A? Offset says Migos has surpassed all other musical groups in history with the release of their newest album, Culture II.

During a recent interview with “Big Boy’s Neighborhood,” the trio of Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff was asked if they believe they are hip-hop’s “biggest group” right now. “We the biggest group ever,” said Offset. “Ever in hip-hop, pop, all that because every genre is motivated or structured music, is right now off us.”

He explained that Culture II is continuing that legacy with new vibes. “It’s a completely different album [than the first],” he said. “It’s different sounds. We came with new sounds again, separate from the first Culture too. We put a lot of the traveling, seeing different things we ain’t ever seen before, into the music.”

During the interview, the group also revealed part of their success comes from a camaraderie that includes constructive criticism during the creative process. “You gotta be able to listen,” said Offset. “There’s three of us so you gonna be outvoted anyways.”

This weekend, Migos is up for its first two Grammy nominations for Best Rap Album (Culture) and Best Rap Performance (“Bad and Boujee”). Meanwhile, the group has just released the 24-track sequel, featuring Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Big Sean, 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Post Malone, Travis Scott, and Ty Dolla $ign.
