What is it like to shop with Kanye West? Lil Uzi Vert, who was recently photographed at a clothing store with Yeezy, explained why he was surprised by ‘Ye during their recent shopping spree.
“He’s never thinking about himself,” Uzi told MTV News at Sunday’s Grammys. “It’s weird. I thought he was going to be grabbing everything. He was grabbing everything for his family. He was like, ‘I don’t even get dressed no more. I swag out my family.’ At that moment, I realized, you gotta swag out the whole family.”
Although they shopped together, Uzi said the Louis Vuitton Don didn’t try to pick out any clothes for him. “No,” he explained. “I really didn’t want him to so I was running away. I was always going to the other side, trying to get my own drip. So I can be like, ‘Look what I got.'”
Finally, Uzi provided two updates. First, he revealed that he isn’t sure what’s happening with his Marilyn Manson collaborative project. “I don’t know,” he said. “I really don’t know what’s going on. I take a lot of ‘shrooms.”
Next, he said everything was OK with his label now, following a public Twitter feud with DJ Drama. “Oh, yeah,” he said. “I’m just a person that speaks my mind. If I get mad at you, I’ll tweet you. Whatever.”
Uzi may not know whether his Manson project will be released, but his musical output isn’t stopping. The Philly rapper recently unleashed “200 My Dash,” “Mood,” and “Wanted You” with NAV. Now, the Best New Artist Grammy nominee is reportedly on a follow-up to last year’s Luv Is Rage 2.
