Migos’ “CULTURE” Tops Billboard 200; First Week Sales Revealed

The numbers are in and Migos are officially on top of the rap game.

After earning their first #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Bad and Boujee” last month, Migos’ sophomore album CULTURE has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. This marks the Atlanta trio’s first #1 album, with their previous album Yung Rich Nation peaking at only #17. What a comeback for Atlanta unlike….ah nevermind.

The project brought in 131,000 in sales, most of which came in the form of streaming equivalent album units. The album moved 44,000 units traditionally, 10,000 in track equivalent album units, and 77,000 in streaming equivalent album units (the last figure making up 59% of the total).

On the other hand, Kehlani’s debut album SweetSexySavage comes in at #3 with a more even ratio, moving 58,000 units with 32,000 sold traditionally. Now you have to wonder if she would have had the highest charting hip-hop album if Donald Glover didn’t shout out Bad and Boujee at the Golden Globe Awards and have it skyrocket to #1…maybe not, but it definitely would have been a lot closer.
