I realize Dwight Howard had a busy summer of his own, which included changing addresses from Houston to Atlanta after he signed with the Hawks but he is definitely lying about this! I can’t figure out if he is just trying to sound cool, like he had to much going on to pay attention to other teams or if he is trying to play mind games. Despite all the attention the Golden State Warriors received during the off season with the signing of Kevin Durant, Dwight claims to not know who plays for them. Insert your side eye here!

“Well, to be honest with you, I haven’t even looked at Golden State,” Howard said in an interview on SiriusXM NBA Radio.
“That’s the honest-to-God truth. I’m happy for K.D. I know a lot of people have been killing him for leaving and going to Golden State, but hey man, he looks happy out there. I did have a chance to, I went to the bowling alley and I saw the first half of their game against the Clippers, and he looks happy. He’s in a great situation for himself. But I haven’t really had a chance to really sit down, I don’t really know who’s on their team. I just glanced on the game for a couple minutes.”
Sure, Dwight might not know who the bench players are on the team that will barely ever play but he’s trying to make it seem like he doesn’t know anyone else either. As if he magically forgot about Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala and more.
He makes himself look even more odd when he then says he would love to play them in the Finals. “I saw the expressions on K.D.’s face of how happy he was,” Howard said. “I’m happy for him. They’re going to be a really good team. Hopefully, it would be great to be playing ’em in The Finals. That’d be fun. ‘Cause I personally, they’ve beaten the teams I’ve been on the last couple years, and I want to beat those guys really bad.”
How could you want to play a team in the finals if you claim you don’t really know who plays for them? What would make that matchup special if you don’t know the opponent?
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say this is some type of mind game for Dwight but you really never know when it comes to him. One thing for sure is he will learn up close who plays for the Warriors when they face off November 28th.
