Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is ready to hit a London stage. The play has been cast, and the character of Hermione Granger will be portrayed by the Black and beautiful Noma Dumezweni (Doctor Who).

While there has been some backlash over Dumezweni’s skin color, I am cool with it and so is the Harry Potter series creator, J.K. Rowling. Find out her insight down bottom.

“Canon: brown eyes, frizzy hair and very clever. White skin was never specified. Rowling loves black Hermione,” Rowling writes on Twitter. No biggie.

On the side of Rowling is Emma Watson-who has played Hermione in the past-who shared a tweet from Matthew Lewis. The retweet read, “And Neville Longbottom was blonde. I really don’t care. Good luck to her.”

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens on July 30. Pip Pip Cheerio.

Check out the gallery for the talented Noma.

#IJS: To all of the Harry Potter lovers who have a problem with the casting decisions, oh well; you can not sell back those memories, and I am sure Rowling is not giving you a refund. Besides, isn’t the point of books for you to imagine? Picture it, Hermione is Black.
