While working on one of MTV’s hit shows, a company helicopter crashed and ultimately killed two people in west Argentina on Saturday. Fortunately, no cast or crew member from the show was involved in the crash. Hit the jump for the full story.

Gianni Vernier, the security minister for Mendoza province of Argentina, told the state news agency Telam that the helicopter was flying over the reservoir at Potrerillos de Mendoza dam about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) northwest of Buenos Aires, when the chopper went down.

The Bell 206 helicopter was carrying the pilot and technician, and their bodies are yet to be found due to the wreckage being 60 meters (200 feet) deep below the surface. There is no known cause yet as to what caused the crash as an investigation is under way.

The helicopter was working on the show “The Challenge”, a co-production of MTV and Bunim-Murray Productions, according to an MTV issued statement. The chopper was on it’s way to a location to film for the show and the only people on board were the pilot and technician.

This is actually the second time a helicopter crash happened while filming for a t.v show in Argentina.

Back in March, two helicopters working on the TV survivalist show “Dropped” collided with each other while filming over rugged terrain in northwestern Argentina. That crash took the lives of all 10 people on board, including three French athletes — pioneering sailor Florence Arthaud, Olympian swimmer Camille Muffat, and boxer Alexis Vastine.
