The Game Stands Behind Kim Kardashian Lyrics

Posted by Unknown on 1:21 PM

The Game is not backing down.

After facing backlash over his sexually violent lyrics about Kim Kardashian, the Compton rapper took to social media to address the controversy. But instead of showing remorse, Game doubled down on his comments.

“I said what I said,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “I didn’t start rapping to be a nice guy. I speak my truths to my fans. If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. Fuck you.”

The explicit verse caused a firestorm on social media. “One bar got everybody in their feelings. On a scale of 1-10 bout how made are you?” he asked.

The lyrics about the beauty mogul appear on a song off Game’s upcoming album Born to Rap. “I’m a goat, ni**a / I held Kim Kardashian by her throat, ni**a / I made her swallow my kids until she choked, ni**a,” he raps before offering an apology to Kanye: “I should apologize, ’cause Ye my folks, ni**a.”

According to TMZ, Game’s close friends and business partners urged him to remove the graphic lyrics, but he decided to keep them, despite the potential problems it may cause with Kanye and the Kardashians.

He was also reportedly advised to reach out to Ye before dropping the track, but didn’t feel it was necessary and chose to “rap his truth regardless of the consequences.”

Kanye has yet to comment, but he has been known to publicly defend his wife. He previously called out Drake and Nick Cannon for mentioning Kim in their music and interviews.

Game previewed the controversial track during a listening session for Born to Rap, which also features appearances from Migos, Meek Mill, 21 Savage, and Ed Sheeran. In addition to Kim, the album includes references to other celebrities including Cassie, Nicki Minaj, and R. Kelly.
