Video: Meek Mill – ‘1942 Flows’

Posted by Unknown on 4:30 PM

While the “Free Meek Mill” campaign rolls on, Meek Mill liberates the video for “1942 Flows” off last year’s Wins & Losses LP.

The incarcerated rapper doesn’t shy away from his current legal struggles. In fact, the clip opens up with a dramatized press conference, in which Meek Mill explains his situation.

“I feel like a free slave,” he says. “I feel like I’ve been targeted by certain people. Just being out in the streets, somebody knows they can take your freedom at any time.”

Meek also details his frustrations while complaining about his current charges. “They charged me with F1 felonies, they seen me riding a bike. That kind of says it all,” he says. “You get F1 felonies when you shoot somebody, when you stab somebody. I was charged with that for riding a bike.”

The Maybach Music Group MC rides around the city, while shots from #JusticeForMeek protests pop up, featuring a cameo from Rick Ross. In between those scenes, Meek goes from a trap house to a mansion, while rapping about police brutality, President Donald Trump, and his ill-fated Nicki Minaj relationship.

“My freedom on the line,” he adds at one point. “Unfortunately, I made mistakes when I was younger. It’s trailing me for the rest of my life.”

Those legal issues continue to trail Meek. The Philadelphia District Attorney recently filed a motion saying he wouldn’t oppose Mill’s release on bail. Previously, Judge Genece Brinkley denied the request, but now the decision rests on the Supreme Court. The Philadelphia rapper is serving 2-4 years in prison for probation violations.
