Mariah Carey’s former manager claims the pop icon sexually harassed her.
Stella Stolper filed documents saying that Carey was constantly naked and did sexual things around her, according to TMZ. Mariah’s team calls her allegations “baseless,” but Stolper is planning to move forward with a lawsuit.
Additionally, Stolper claims Carey has a substance abuse problem and that she doesn’t take her bipolar disorder medication. The report indicates Carey was diagnosed with the disorder, which she recently revealed publicly, in 2001.
Stolper’s grievances continue. She also says that she was fired in the middle of a three-year contract and that she is owed money. She wants Carey to fix this before she files the lawsuit.
Carey’s reps say that they will fight the lawsuit. “If this frivolous and baseless claim is filed,” they said, “we will defend against it vigorously and successfully.”
Stolper, who also went by Stellla Bulochnikov, released a statement after they parted ways in November of last year. “After working together for almost three years, Mariah Carey and Stella Bulochnikov have determined that it is in their mutual best interest to part ways on day-to-day management,” she said. “During their time working together, they have accomplished great things, including, most recently, Mariah Carey’s new music and motion picture projects for this upcoming holiday season. Mariah Carey and Stella Bulochnikov remain partners in a number of business ventures, and will continue to support each other in those endeavors.”
After parting ways with Stolper and cleaning house, Carey is now working on her next album under a new deal with Roc Nation. “I’m in the studio starting a new album of regular music…Meaning it’s not a Christmas album,” she told V Magazine. “I’m kind of restarting, and I’m working with Roc Nation now, so that’s great.”
