Azealia Banks Readies ‘Fantasea II’ for Summer Release

Posted by Unknown on 7:39 PM

Fresh off the release of her fashionable single “Anna Wintour,” Azealia Banks is readying her new album Fantasea II: The Second Wave for a summer release.

Speaking with Beats 1’s Ebro Darden, Banks revealed the pending release date. “We are trying to go for the summer 2018 because of the whole mermaid aesthetic,” she said. “Definitely by July the latest.”

The project will be a double disc featuring the original Fantasea. Meanwhile, The Second Wave will include Busta Rhymes. But Mel B, previously announced as a guest, is not on the album.

“She’s not not on the track [‘Anna Wintour’] due to personal issues,” Banks said. “The time I needed to turn in the record, the Mel B feature wasn’t done.”

Although the album will feature different styles, Banks said she isn’t able to work with too many hip-hop producers. “None of the hip-hop producers really wanna work with me,” she complained. “I don’t need them. Everybody just thinks I’m some weird black girl.”

Men in hip-hop also wouldn’t understand her beef with Cardi B, she said. “They don’t understand the interpersonal relationships women have with each other,” she added, when pushed to comment on the feud.
