New Music: DJ Khaled feat. JAY-Z, Beyoncé, & Future – ‘Top Off’

Posted by Unknown on 9:18 AM

The summer starts now. After a surprise announcement, DJ Khaled unleashes “Top Off,” a fiery collaboration with JAY-Z, Beyoncé, and Future that’s set to appear on his forthcoming 11th album, Father of Asahd.

Boasting production from Khaled and Joe Zarillo, the new banger allows Hndrxx to set it off with an amped-up chorus. “I took the top off the Maybach,” he raps. “I see the popo behind me, I ain’t gon’ stop.”

JAY-Z takes the baton from there and delivers a wide-ranging verse about everything from Meek Mill’s ongoing legal issues to an apparent George Zimmerman reference.

“Free my ni**a, Meek Mill,” he raps. “Ni**as can’t wheelie in this free world / Meanwhile Georgie Porgie sinnin’ and sendin’ me threats / Save your breath, you couldn’t beat a flight of steps / Try that shit with a grown man / I’ll kill that fuckboy with my own hands.”

Following Pluto’s infectious hook, “B” delivers a show-stopping verse of her own that also highlights Meek Mill’s case.

“I’m the only lady here, still the realest ni**a in the room,” she raps. “I break the internet, top two and I ain’t number two / My body, my ice, my cash, all real, I’m a triple threat / Fuck it up and then leave, come back, fuck it up, and leave again / Top off the coupe and it look like Freaknik / In the hood, hollerin’, ‘Free Meek’ / Two deep, it’s just me and JAY.”

“Top Off” is set to appear on Khaled’s upcoming album, Father of Asahd. It follows his Jigga and Queen Bey collaboration “Shining” off last year’s Grateful and Hov and Hndrxx’s “I Got the Keys” off 2016’s Major Key.
