Drake Says His Next Album Is ‘for the City’ of Toronto

Posted by Unknown on 1:36 PM

The Toronto Raptors looked alive during Drake Night at the Air Canada Centre on Friday (March 9), where the team faced off against James Harden’s Houston Rockets.

Drizzy took the mic at half court for a special announcement, where he confirmed that he is still working on an album for the city he loves. “I’m happy to be home,” he said. “I’m working on this new album for the city.”

After calling the Raptors “the greatest team in the land,” Drake also predicted that his squad would end the Rockets’ 17-game winning run. “By the looks of it,” he said, “this win streak is over.” Led by Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, the Raptors ended up victorious over the Rockets in a close battle that ended 108-105.

Drake has been teasing his fifth album for quite some time. In August, he revealed that he had started working on it in his hometown. It will be the follow-up to 2016’s Views and last year’s More Life, as well as this year’s Scary Hours, which spawned the chart-topping “God’s Plan.”

The 6 God has enlisted some big names for the project. While Noah “40” Shebib is once again involved, Drizzy is reportedly collaborating with Pi’erre Bourne, Bad Bunny, and London On Da Track.
