Stream Rich Brian’s Debut Album ‘Amen’

Posted by Unknown on 9:42 PM

After breaking into the music world with the viral sensation “Dat $tick,” Rich Brian, formerly known as Rich Chigga, unleashes his debut album Amen.

The 18-year-old from Jakarta, Indonesia, chronicles his growth over the course of the 14 songs. Offset appears as a guest star, along with Brian’s labelmates Joji, NIKI, and AUGUST 08.

“I talk a lot about my experiences, and coming to America,” Brian told GQ. “There’s a lot of personal stuff in this one, and I produced most of it. I don’t really have a certain goal, but it’s great to finally make an album and I’m really excited to see what people think about it.”

Introduced to rap by Tyga and Macklemore songs, the homeschooled teen started making music for fun. “Dat $tick” evolved from those sessions, but resulted in some serious success, earning props from the likes of Cam’ron and Ghostface Killah. GFK even appeared on the remix. Following “Dat $tick’s” success, Brian decided to come to America in May of 2017 and switch to his given name instead of Rich Chigga, which had offended many because it was derived from the n-word. “I was naive and I made a mistake,” he said earlier this year. “New year, new beginning.”

To celebrate the project, Brian dropped a medley of “Cold” and the title track on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.” Dressed in a dapper tuxedo, the rapper launched into the set on top of a bed of smoke. Watch the full performance below.
