New Music: Rick Ross feat. T-Pain & Kodak Black – ‘Florida Boy’

Posted by Unknown on 9:45 PM

Rick Ross shows love to his home state with fellow Floridians Kodak Black and T-Pain. The star-studded trio celebrates the Sunshine State on a new collaboration, “Florida Boy,” which could appear on Rozay’s Port of Miami 2.

Carol City representer Renzel kicks off the track with a verse about the state’s challenges. “It’s hard as hell for this Florida boy,” he raps. “Home of young ni**as killin’ with no remorse.”

Here, he adds a cautionary rhyme about incarceration: “Life a test and every day we got so much to fail / Told you the world was yours, now you in a cell.”

Tallahassee’s Teddy P comes through with a melodic hook. “Bitch, I’m a Florida boy,” he sings with his signature sound. “Old school, big-ass rims, sittin’ like Tonka Toys / I got a Florida state of mind now, I be on my grind now / Let my ni**as shine now.”

Finally, Pompano Beach’s own Project Baby closes out the track by saying Lil Wayne influenced him and by explaining why he’s locked and loaded. “It’s still a struggle so you can’t get too comfortable / ‘Cause ni**as see that money comin’ and they try to come for you / But they don’t know that this famous shit mean nothin’ to you / Still keep a gun or two,” raps the artist, who was recently arrested on several charges, including grand theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, neglecting a child, possession of a weapon or ammo by a felon, and probation violation.

Rozay has been working on Port of Miami 2 for quite some time now. Originally announced in March of 2017, the project is set to arrive at some point this year. It is the sequel to his 2006 debut album.
