New Music: Forever M.C. & It’s Different feat. DMX, Royce Da 5’9”, KXNG Crooked, & Statik Selektah – ‘King Kong’

Posted by Unknown on 5:35 PM

The rapper-producer combo of Forever M.C. and It’s Different taps an all-star cast of lyricists for “King Kong,” the latest single from their upcoming compilation, which features DMX, Royce Da 5’9″, KXNG Crooked, and Statik Selektah.

Crooked kicks off the track with an intricate verse about his distaste for shady industry folks. “Hip-hop ain’t dead, but radio programmers should be,” he raps. “Fuck it, I just said it / Nothing I regretted / Unapologetic.”

KXNG’s fellow Slaughterhouse member Royce Da 5’9″ joins in on the second verse, delivering a menacing performance. “I ain’t even rhymin’, man / I’m just being honest, man,” he raps. “I would have your body lyin’ in your home while your soul flyin’ to the promise land.”

Over blaring rock guitars, DMX provides the frenetic hook and final verse. “I write in my books ’cause my books is what I say,” he raps. “And what I say is my life, it’s the life took away / ‘Cause the path has been dark for oh so long / Spit it from the heart from the start, can’t go wrong.”

Before this, Forever M.C. and It’s Different also dropped “Terminally Ill” featuring Chino XL, KXNG Crooked, Ritz, Statik Selektah, and Tech N9ne. Their upcoming Forever M.C. compilation is set to feature Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, The Game, Chuck D, Wu-Tang Clan, and more. The project is due March 30.
