Posted by Unknown on 7:19 PM

Bruno Mars wants next year’s Super Bowl halftime extravaganza to be a tribute to Atlanta’s hip-hop history with a medley of performances from ATL rap legends.

The “Finesse” crooner, who performed at the Big Game in 2014 and 2016, shared his wish list of performers, including OutKast, T.I., Gucci Mane, and Jeezy, for Super Bowl LIII, which will be held at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2019.

“@NFL you have the opportunity to celebrate incredible Hip Hop Artist from Atlanta Next year,” he wrote. “Outkast. T.I Gucci, lil jon, Jeezy, Jermaine Dupri just to name a few. it would be the best party Tv has ever seen!”

He went on to say that he would like to organize the performance at a nominal fee. “Shit I just wanna help curate that show, and I’ll only charge like a billion😂,” he wrote. “all jokes aside please lets make that happen.”

Ludacris has already become part of the Atlanta Super Bowl campaign, appearing in a video promoting next year’s festivities. “In 2019, we will host the largest sporting event in the country—Super Bowl LII!” he said. “Atlanta is now and we are ready. It is our turn, ATL, and we are on the clock. Welcome to Atlanta. We are Super Bowl LIII.”

Very few rappers have performed as part of the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show. The short list includes Nelly (2001, 2004), Diddy (2004), The Black Eyed Peas (2011), and Missy Elliott (2015).

Whether Mars gets to curate the Super Bowl experience remains to be seen, but the Grammy-winning crooner will continue hitting the road. Recently, he announced his upcoming “24K Magic World Tour” finale with Cardi B, which is set to hit Boston, Brooklyn, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Nashville, Philadelphia, St. Paul, Toronto, and Tulsa this year.
