New Music: Eminem – ‘Untouchable’

Posted by Unknown on 10:48 PM

After showing his vulnerability on the Beyoncé-assisted “Walk On Water,” Eminem is “Untouchable” on his latest Revival release. With a week until his album drops, Slim Shady unleashes the racial and politically-charged Mr. Porter-produced track, which deals with racial inequality and white privilege.

“White boy, white boy / You’re untouchable,” he raps. “Nobody can tell me shit ’cause I’m a…”

He continues by addressing segregation and discrimination in America, with references to Colin Kaepernick and Rodney King. “Throughout history, African Americans have been treated like shit and I admit, there have been times when it has been embarrassing to be a white boy,” he raps.

Executive produced by Rick Rubin, Revival features appearances from Ed Sheeran (“River”), Alicia Keys (“Like Home”), X Ambassadors (“Bad Husband”), Skylar Grey (“Tragic Endings”), Kehlani (“Nowhere Fast”), Pink (“Need Me”), and PHresher (“Chloraseptic”).

“It’s a reflection of where I’m at right now, but also I feel like what I tried to do was diversify,” Em told Interview magazine. “I’ve tried to make a little something for everyone.”
