One of the most beloved Knicks players in franchise history is currently not feeling the love from the best player to ever call the Garden home. Charles Oakley was out in New York on Thursday, on his way to HeadQuarters Gentlemen’s club when he told TMZ that he was hurt over what he felt was a lack of support from Patrick Ewing over the incident involving himself and James Dolan last month.

Out of all the current and former players who showed support for Oakley in the aftermath of him being ejected from Madison Square Garden, it was surprising that Ewing remained quiet throughout it all. You would expect someone who played side by side with Oakley for as long as Ewing did would be vocal in his support and judging from Oakley’s reaction, it doesn’t seem he’s heard from him privately either.

Oakley seemed sincere about being hurt over the lack of love. “I’m hurting because he didn’t call in and show love because I had his back for 10 years.”

“You should have been the first one who said something about what happened in The Garden. Should have been the FIRST ONE.”

He even made sure to credit one of his other famous teammates, in Michael Jordan, for how he was in contact with him almost immediately. Hopefully this is really nothing and they will talk soon.
