Alicia Keys recently got a chance to visit the “Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon. Keys spoke on her son producing songs for Kendrick Lamar and also the one time she covered a Prince song under one condition.
When speaking on the Prince cover, Keys said,
“At that time, I didn’t know that you actually had to clear the song to put someone else’s song on your album. Like, you have to ask permission right? Which I now get and I’m so thankful that people ask me for my permission. But I didn’t know that you had to ask permission, so it was this whole big ordeal, and I had to call him.”
Fallon and Keys then went on to play Wheel of Musical Impressions, where she got a chance to impersonate Gwen Stefani and also Adele. This was comical.
