In a video footage, we see a young girl speak on being diagnosed with a hormonal condition at just 12. She says her mother tried to do all she could so that she would not be bullied in school. The young woman has a beard. She says clearly waxing the hair wouldn’t work. In fact, she tried everything and nothing worked.
The young lady says she has now decided to embrace her beard. She says she is still a woman. Why should she have to fear being herself just because she has a beard. For a while the young woman says she hated her body and who she was. She even started to harm herself and think suicide. She says her family and friends embraced her “woman beard” and love her for who she is.
