Lamar Odom recently finished a rehab stint and is reportedly doing much better. Now that things are on the up for him, he’s interested in a job on the Los Angeles Lakers coaching staff. Odom and new Lakers coach Luke Walton recently grabbed dinner together, fueling speculation that Odom could return to the purple and gold.
TMZ Sports captured Odom and Walton leaving The Lobster in L.A. Saturday night. They were of course questioned about whether or not a deal was close to being done but they both remained mum on the issue.
Walton reportedly discussed a coaching role with his former teammate previously.
“I think Lamar would be great,” Walton told reporters. “I think anyone that knows Lamar, when he’s right, is one of the most likeable people that they’ve been around and I think he has great knowledge of the game and has a great way of communicating with people.“
It could’ve just been old friends catching up with dinner, or maybe we’ll seen Odom on the sideline soon.
