Swizz Beatz Doesn’t Want The Lox Throwing Up The Roc Sign

Posted by Unknown on 11:12 AM

lox-swizzIn December, The Lox officially joined Jay’s Roc Nation. Then they dropped their first album in 16 years, Filthy America…. It’s Beautiful.

The Lox repped the Ruff Ryders between 1999-2010, after their time with Puff and Bad Boy was done.

Swizz Beatz made most of the beats for The Lox’s 2000 Ruff Ryder album We Are The Streets, and is the nephew of the label’s founders. He spoke on how strange it is for him to see The Lox on Roc.

“I just don’t want nobody throwing up the Roc sign,” Swizz said.“I just don’t like that part. Jay is family and everybody family, but throw up the R, please. Don’t get too excited. Fuck that. I don’t care what the deal is. We ain’t doing that. They ain’t throwing up no Ruff Ryders. Let’s keep it hip-hop. Keep it business.”

We think Swizz was mostly kidding, but Lox on Roc Nation at this point in their career is a twist.

Swizz talks Lox at about the five minute mark.
