If you thought that Lil Wayne was finally about to settle the $51 million lawsuit that he filed against Birdman two years ago, think again because he’s far from doing so.
According to TMZ, the two had just one meeting to go before reaching an agreement, but talks were abruptly halted after Tunechi dissed Birdman at a concert earlier this month.
In that show, Wayne suggested that he’s no longer with Cash Money, and he’s now down with Jay Z.
“I’m a motherf—— Roc-A-Fella millionaire,” spit Wayne in the song ‘I’m Me,’ using the words “Roc-A-Fella” instead of “Cash Money.” He also told Birdman to s— my d—” at that show, which probably angered the 47-year-old even more.
If you recall, Weezy stunned the Hip Hop world in 2014 when he expressed frustration with Cash Money Records for allegedly holding back his Carter V album and not paying him the proper advances.
“To all my fans, I want you to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released, because Baby and Cash Money Records refuse to release it,” he tweeted. “I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy.”
From here, there’s no telling if or when Wayne will settle things with Birdman or even get a portion of the $51 million he’s supposedly owed.
As for whether the ‘A Milli’ spitter will actually sign with Jay Z …
It’s possible, because they’ve talked about working together before. But those talks were quickly shut down, according to an interview Hov gave in 2013.
“The truth is, I had a relationship with Baby,” he told The Breakfast Club. “I felt it was only right to call him out of respect, so I was like ‘Yo, I was talking to Wayne’ and then boom boom, after that we received a letter at our office for, I think it was torturous interference.”
The bottom line is it’s probably best for Wayne if he holds off on dissing Birdman for a while.
