Producer 9th Wonder schools the folks on Twitter and the new generation on hip-hop history, and in the process defends newcomers like Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, etc. etc. because it’s not their fault they don’t know Pac or Biggie songs.

Frankie Zing

True twitter talk, but a testament to where we are in the game. For those of you who don’t know, 9th Wonder is a legendary producer and a hip-hop scholar. He also gives the perspective of how it was for him growing up saying that kids in ’93 didn’t know all the artists from ’81. There’s a generational divide and once we accept that we can all get along easier.

“People have to accept the fact that the rubric or standard for each generation is different. So leave Lil’ Uzi Vert, Lil’ Yachty, Kodak Black, etc….alone Fam. We got our greats. Ain’t nobody said you gotta like them….”
