Last year, Steve Harvey tried to start a new racing team called “Steve Harvey Races 4 Education” with Diversity Motorsports, but was rejected by the 99% Caucasian league. After several attempts and rejections, this year, Terrence Cox of Diversity Motorsports has file a lawsuit.

Cox, founder and CEO of Diversity Motorsports (and a black man) has filed suit against NASCAR and associated racing teams for racial discrimination. Per the lawsuit:

“Motorsports remain the most racially segregated sport in the United States,” the complaint said. “NASCAR and ISC have been complicit in, and supportive of, the racially discriminatory environment that virtually excludes African-Americans from meaningful participation.”

NASCAR’s retort:

“[NASCAR] embraces all individuals interested and involved in our sport, whether as partners, fans, competitors or employees, and there is no merit to this lawsuit…Diversity both on and off the track continues to be a top priority for NASCAR and its stakeholders. We stand behind our actions, and will not let a publicity-seeking legal action deter us from our mission.”

I am all for equality, but my next question is for you.
