Eminem Speaks On The Passing Of ‘8 Mile’ Director, Curtis

Last night, Oscar-winning screenwriter and director, Curtis Hanson, passed away at the age of 71. Hanson worked on iconic films like The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, The River Wild and L.A. Confidential, as well as Eminem’s big film, 8 Mile.

“Curtis Hanson believed in me and our crazy idea to make a rap battle movie set in Detroit,” Em said in a statement. “He basically made me into an actor for ‘8 Mile.’ I’m lucky I got to know him.”
