Dennis Rodman was a vital piece of the Bulls second “Three Peat” where they won titles from the 95-96 season until the 97-98 season when Jordan decided to walk away from the game for a second time. According to Rodman, the Bulls had all that chemistry on the court without being friends off of it. In a recent interview that is scheduled to air this weekend, the Worm claims he never once had a conversation with either Jordan or Pippen off the basketball court.

During an interview for the next episode of In Depth With Graham Bensinger, Rodman reveals he didn’t think being friends with everyone was necessarily important.

“I didn’t think it was important,” he said. “I thought it was important for me to go there and win…I don’t have to have a job to speak to people. My job is to correlate and understand how people work and do one thing and make people believe the fact that you belong there. You know, talking to people will come. Relating to people will come. If they see you performing and doing your job and being with the group, that’s all I want…Me and Scottie and Michael never had a conversation in three years in Chicago. Only time we had a conversation was on the court.”

Considering how “PC” both Jordan and Pippen were compared to Rodman and his eccentric ways, is this really a surprise to hear this? I could very easily see MJ wanting nothing to do with hanging out with Rodman away from the sport. It doesn’t mean there wasn’t a mutual respect among these greats but sometimes you just know what circles you run in and clearly these circles were from different worlds.
