The NYPD has arrested a man who allegedly smashed a woman in the head with the ceramic lid to a toilet tank, before stabbing her repeatedly. The 53-year-old woman survived, suffering serious injuries.

Michael Taylor, 50, allegedly had an argument with his long time companion before hitting her over her head with the lid to a ceramic toilet seat. He then grabbed a knife and stabbed her repeatedly. The victim suffered stab wounds to her head, neck, and back.
The victim regained consciousness, managing to escape the house and find help. She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for serious injuries, but is expected to survive.
After a two-hour search of the home, Taylor was found hiding in the wall of the basement. He has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.
