(Photos) NBA: Klay Thompson On Not Being Drafted By The Bucks: “I Thank God Everyday”

Klay Thompson came VERY close to being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2011 and I think it’s safe to say everyone knows his career would likely not being going so well if that had happened. The Bucks had the pick right before the Warriors and wanted a shooter. Not long before they were going to make their pick, they got involved in a three team trade and wound up passing on Klay and he couldn’t be happier they did.

Most players take the “PC” route when asked about what team they want to be drafted by or being respectful of other possible scenario’s but thankfully Klay Thompson kept it G when asked about the Bucks almost drafting him.

“I thank God everyday, and I ended up in the Bay”

He better be thanking the man upstairs. He is already an NBA champion thanks to the superior backcourt of himself & Steph Curry and a great supporting cast. Up till this point in his career, if he was with the Bucks he would have had to settle for being happy for just making the playoffs.

It is refreshing to see an athlete just speak the real instead of sugarcoating his feelings about a team. Who the hell wants to be in Milwaukee compared to the Bay Area in California? Don’t get me wrong, the Bucks are a young up & coming team who will cause some problems for the eastern conference soon but they are still a long way from where Klay already is.
