Breast cancer awareness month is coming up quickly and today, runners in Denver, Colorado have gotten to together to participate in a marathon that will also raise money towards finding a cure.
The race started bright and early on Sunday morning and with almost two hours in, the Susan G. Komen foundation has raised 85% of their goal.
With the objective of $750,000, the foundation has earned a whopping $636,498.38.
According to the American Cancer Society, over 60,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Almost everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer, and efforts to find cures are in full swing. Marathons are one popular way that organizations have found as an effective way to get people involved and aware.
