After recently making his come-back with his Black Messiah album, which can be purchased via iTunes here, D’Angelo appeared on Saturday Night Live to make quite the statement. In honor of Eric Garner and Trayvon Martin, both whom which were killed unlawfully, the R&B heartthrob had his backups rock a black hoodie with the words “I can’t breathe” on it, furthering the importance of the #BlackLivesMatter campaign. Check out D’Angelo’s very moving and civil-rights inspired performance below.
