During Hot 97’s 97 Seconds series, Nelly talks about when he fell in love with music, his earlier influences of music, linking up with his the St. Lunatics, his name and not being co-signing by any other rapper or producers during his breakout point.
“I’m probably one of the few rappers that had the type of success, that I wasn’t signed by a rapper, I didn’t get picked up by a major producer,” he says. “NOBODY co-signed Nelly.”
