Chipotle Apologizes To NYPD For Employee’s ‘Hands-Up, Don’t Shoot’ Gesture. Bad customer service? I’m afraid so;there have been many versions of this story on social media. Apparently 8 officers walked into Chipotle restaurant and an employee did the don’t Shoot ( hands up gesture.) The 8 officers walked out soon after. On social media the story was a little different. They claimed that the workers refused to serve the police officers which isn’t true Wow is the disrespect of police officer’s catching on like wild fire? there was a time people reverenced the men in women in blue? Chipotle CEOs Steve Ells and Monty Moran released the following statement in regards to the incident: “We work very hard to ensure that every customer in our restaurants feels welcome and is treated with respect,” the corporate heads said in a statement”.“Clearly, the actions of this crew member undermined that effort.” The employee was reprimanded.Still no word if she was terminated yet. Check the full story below.

After reviewing video footage from that evening, Chipotle’s communications director apologized Dec. 27 for what actually happened: “a single Chipotle employee raise[d] her hands in what appears to have been a spontaneous, unplanned gesture of protest directed at the police. The group of officers then left without ordering food.”The co-CEOs of the company issued a further apology Dec. 30, reiterating that the protest “was not a coordinated effort by the staff” and that the cops “chose to leave after encountering this gesture while still waiting in line.”

“We have proudly served law enforcement officers in our restaurants around the country for the last 21 years and we continue to do so every day,” they added.Although it’s now clear the officers weren’t refused service, the outrage on Twitter and Facebook has continued, thanks to people who still believe Chipotle is anti-cop or take issue with the “hands up, don’t shoot” gesture itself.
