There will be no classes Monday or Tuesday at Montgomery Public Schools due to the extreme cold and the threat of icy roads.
The main concern, said MPS spokesman Tom Salter, is that school buses are not equipped for extremely cold weather and there is a chance they will not start.
All MPS buildings will be closed both days.
The current plan is for schools to resume their normal schedules Wednesday morning, although a final decision on that will be made Tuesday, Salter said.
