Uh oh, looks like the NAACP will need a new leader because as of December Benjamin Jealous Will be Resigning from his position as President for the civil rights organization. Benjamin Jealous is leaving because he wants to spend more time with his family and wants to raise and train more up and coming civil rights leaders. Check out the statement that Jealous made this Sunday below.
“The NAACP has always been the largest civil rights organization in the streets, and today it is also the largest civil rights organization online, on mobile and at the ballot box too,” Jealous said in a statement issued by the group Sunday afternoon. “I am proud to leave the Association financially sound, sustainable, focused, and more powerful than ever.”
