In a shocking turn of events Anderson Silva lost UFC 162 after being knocked out by Chris Weidman less than two minutes into the second round. Read more after the jump.
Some say Silva was dancing and playing around too much and got caught and some say he threw the fight (odd). Whatever it was we have to give Weidman his props for shocking the world.
Silva dropped his hands showing off his usual bravado taunting and ducking shots when Weidman caught him with a left-right combination, knocking him to the floor.
The reason for speculation is because there were a few things off about the fight. Firstly Silva won a UFC record 10 straight title defenses before losing to Chris Weidman. He entered the fight seemingly uninterested and not really giving much of an effort.
He not only lost the middleweight championship title, he said he did not want a rematch and wasn’t interested in fighting for the title again.
Jon Bones Jones had been discussed as his next opponent in a highly anticipated fight but now it’s unclear what will happen and certainly some of the luster has dissipated.
