What’s Independence Day without its star, Will Smith?! I’m not sure, but I don’t think I care enough to find out. The 1996 blockbuster is finally getting a sequel, set to hit theaters in 2014, but unfortunately Will Smith won’t be a part of it! Find out more after the jump!
“Will Smith cannot come back because he’s too expensive, but he’d also be too much of a marquee name,” the film’s director Roland Emmeric said in a statement. “It would be too much.”
