Emmet Till’s Family Denies Lil Wayne’s Apology!?

Today, Lil Wayne issued an apology to Emmet Till’s family for his lyrics in Future’s track, “Karate Chop”. The lyrics in the song were, “beat that p#ssy up like, Emmett Till.” Due to the controversy and offensive nature behind the lyrics, the Till family wanted Wayne dropped from his Mountain Dew endorsement. Airickca Gordon-Taylor who is the Till families representative released this statement in regards to Lil Wayne’s apology, “While it’s commendable that he has vowed to respect the legacy of Emmett Till and his memory to ‘not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in his music,’ this statement falls short of an apology, as none is mentioned.” Click here for more.
