Undercover Cop Kills Man After He Flashed a BB Gun

Saturday night two undercover detectives for the NYPD shot a man after he flashed a BB Gun at the officers. The officers were arresting Nolan Rivera, a 33 year old drug dealer when his friend came up on them from behind. The two detectives opened fire when the man whose name has not been released hopped out of a livery cab and pointed a toy gun at them that has a strong resemblance of a Glock pistol. Nolan Rivera shouted, “They’re Cops you idiot!” to his friend just before two NYPD undercover officers shot him three times fatally for pulling Walther CP99 compressed air pistol on them. Police speculate the man who is now dead presumed the cops, who were in plain clothes were robbing his friend when he decided to point a gun at them. Rivera agrees that was likely his friends thinking, and that maybe he was trying to pull a fast one on the officers. Police say the deceased man had a rather long rap sheet with more than 39 prior arrest including 4 in Miami.

Rivera was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, tampering with physical evidence and criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was sent to the hospital because he swallowed a bag of drugs.
