Kenan Thompson To Do A Comedy Show On NBC

Everyone knows Kenan (or should know Kenan) from Nickelodeon’s Kenan & Kel. That was my show! Kenan went from a sneaky and conniving teen to a sketch comedian for Saturday Night Live. He’s had other things under his belt, but more recent is he’ll be creating a comedy with Lorne Michaels. Kenan will write, star in and executive produce the comedy that has yet to be given a title. He’ll be playing Kenan Monroe, a guy who leaves his NY lifestyle to move in with the in-laws. I can see the problems developing already. Michaels, who will be the executive producer, has made this his second spin-off project this season. “Awwwww here it goes.” Drop down bottom for more.

The single-camera comedy would star Thompson as Kenan Monroe, a guy who gives up his New York life and moves to his in-laws’ house in the suburbs, where he must contend with three generations of problems.
Michaels will executive produce through his Broadway Video banner and Universal Television, marking the second project he has set up this development season. NBC in August gave script orders to an untitled brothers comedy from SNL’s Seth Meyers and his younger brother, Josh Meyers (MadTV). That project, will be penned by the siblings, also hails from Michaels’ Broadway Video and Universal TV.
