Yes, New Orleans rapper Jay Electronica is still around. Even better, he’s getting some real support from Jay-Z. Watch what Jay-Z said about Jay Electronica’s official debut album, Act 2: Patents Of Nobility.

Jay-Z, Roc Nation owner, is a little more understanding when it comes to Jay Electronica’s creative process. In Nov 2010 Roc Nation signed Jay Electronica and since then, we’ve been waiting for some huge results.


“I love that, I want to support that sort of energy. I want people to be creative and not traditional, not just a single [at] this time, this time [and] this time,” Jay-Z told MTV News on Monday, when he was in Philadelphia to announce his two-day Made in America music festival. “You know, he operates at his own time, but the album is really close.”
